Client: Commonwealth Cure
Project: brand portfolio and creative direction
Description: Branding, family of logos, art direction, packaging and website design for Commonwealth Cure
The spirit of Kentucky is alive, well and evident in the wares of Commonwealth Cure, an artisanal cured meats purveyor based in Louisville. This two-person shop is comprised of the nicest pair of people you ever did meet, who feel extraordinarily passionate about their products, about defining American styles of salami and charcuterie and about keeping things local. And in turn, we feel equally passionate about aligning ourselves with clients of this caliber of character.
Commonwealth approached us needing a full portfolio of design, from establishing the right brand direction to creating the labels that would appear on their packaging to bringing a website to life.
They were game to pursue an unexpected look for their product category, so we developed a family of logos and a layout for the labels that felt Euro-chic with a strong emphasis on geometric shapes, clean typography and the intention of visually setting their product apart from the competition. The taste does all the rest. Commonwealth Cure launched in late Fall 2015.
